Project summary: The GDF SUEZ RomaniaGroup offers  joint financing for a research scholarship of 18 months betwenn France and Romania. This scholarship would allow a 6 months mobility per year during a period of three years(18 months)for a PhD candidate within the host laboratory of the CEA in Grenoble (www-liten.cea.fr) in order to work on a state of art of the renewable energies storage on the methane vector and its application to the energy reality of Romania. The host laboratory in France carries out the project DEMETER that is financed by the French National Agency for Research and aims at providing a technical and an economical analysis of a facility able to stock and destock renewable electrical energy between an electric network and a gas network. The CEA-Liten laboratory (www-liten.cea.fr) benefits from an expertise on the production and the storage of hydrogene and on renewable energies (solar and biomass) and committed itself for some time now to a volunteer action regarding the storage of renewable energies on methane or on synthetic fuel, both being obtained by hydrogenation of CO2, the hydrogne coming from electrolysers supplied by renewable energies. Thus, the topic of research would be to make,  for the account of GDF SUEZ Energy Romania, a complete evaluation of the new storage technologies of electrical energy, particularly under the form of methane (water electrolysis, recombination of CO2/H2).
